Although much of the information provided by Enterprise Edge will be retrievable through the website links, it is important that this is supported by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic team of researchers. We have therefore staffed our help centre with a dedicated group of people who between them can offer a wide range of experiences and skills. The intention is that by selecting the right combination of professional competence we shall be able to provide answers to any of the enquiries that local businesses raise with us - quickly and efficiently.
Andy Phillips
Andy has an upper second class Honours degree in Tourism Management from Oxford Brookes University. After graduating and spending some time abroad Andy returned to Cornwall to work for both the King Harry Ferry Company, as Marketing Manager, and for the Rural Economic Partnership, as Project Manager. Andy is currently an affiliated member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and is in the final stages of studying the CIM’s Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing through Cornwall Business School.
Ceri Jago
Ceri has a degree in French and Economics with International Business. Before moving to Cornwall in January 2002 she worked mainly for large multi-national companies both in the UK and in Europe. Ceri is particularly interested in international trade issues and as a Swedish speaker has a good knowledge of and links with the Nordic countries.
Nina Matthews
After graduating from the University of London, Nina returned to Cornwall and gained further qualifications in Business Administration. During her employment with a local economic development company, she worked on many different European funded projects targeted at achieving the growth of small businesses in the South West. These included UK and European private equity, the compilation of a database listing sources of public and private sector finance available to SMEs, and the Cornwall '98 Watersports Festival. Other projects concerned the upgrading of industrial buildings and the environmental improvement of selected industrial estates in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. Nina joined Enterprise Edge in May 2000 as a business information researcher.
Jacqui Piper
Since graduating with a degree in Studies in the Rural Environment, Jacqui has been employed within the water, waste, retail and research sectors both at a local and national level. During this time she has gained several years project management and research experience. In the first instance delivering practical low cost environmental solutions for a local SME and secondly with Cornwall Business School, where she worked on a range of research projects, including The Learning Connection, a European funded study of SMEs throughout Cornwall Devon and Somerset.
Dominique Tregenza-Hall
Dominique has a Combined Honours degree in Psychology and Law. After graduating she worked in Exeter for South West Water as a configuration technician, then with B&Q Direct in Southampton as a merchandising officer. During this time she gained valuable sales, research and I.T. experience. Dominique returned to Cornwall and joined Enterprise Edge as a researcher in 2004.
Kathryn Berger
Kathryn Berger returned to Cornwall in 2003 after having worked in London for Andersen Consulting and JP Morgan as a business researcher and then more recently for Reuters in Devon as a South African Market Analyst. She has a degree in Commerce from Birmingham University and an MSc in Information Science from City University. Kathryn joined Enterprise Edge as a researcher in February 2005.
Rachael Wooding
Rachael graduated from Manchester University with a degree in English & American Literature. After working in London for a year she moved to northern Italy to teach business skills for eighteen months. In 2003 she relocated to Barcelona where she taught English to Catalan businesses and the Spanish Army. She came to Cornwall at the beginning of the year and joined Enterprise Edge in May 2004.
